Phonological Processes of Laki Dialect in Comparison with Standard Persian

The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating some phonological processes in the Laki dialect of Alishtar. Since the current study required fieldwork, the authors selected Alishtar, one of the Lak-speaking regions as the target area and proceeded to collect data.  In this descriptive-analytical study, after selecting the participants (10 individuals over the age of 40), the required data were collected through question-and-answer sessions, interviews, and observation, and were subsequently analyzed. The data were transcribed using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). To identify phonological processes, in addition to phonetic studies, some morphological considerations were also investigated as necessitated by the study. The results showed that in this dialect certain processes such as weakening and deletion are more active compared to others.
