Tourism, as the largest dynamic industry in the world, plays an important role in the economic, cultural and social development of societies. Among the components of local culture, language occupies a central position and can significantly contribute to the development of cultural tourism. This study, using a descriptive – applied approach and focusing on the Lari language as a component of the local culture of Lar city, examines the identity-forming role of this language in the development of tourism in Lar. The data were collected through library research, field observations, and linguistic- cultural evidence provided by a native speaker. The findings indicate that the Lari language, together with other elements of local culture such as performing arts, folk songs, traditional foods, games, handicrafts, ancient monuments, ceremonies, celebrations and rituals plays a fundamental role in shaping the cultural identity of Lar and can be considered a valuable resource for the promotion of tourism. Furthermore, the comparative phonetic analysis of the names of some traditional foods in four dialects of Lari language - Lari, Gerashi, Evazi, and khonji - reveals linguistic affinity and shared cultural identity within the region.
