This paper provides a brief overview of several dialects of the Persian language spoken within the current geographical boundaries of Iran. Numerous studies have been conducted on Persian dialects, and various individuals have contributed to this field through books, theses, and articles. While some of these studies follow scientific methodologies, many others have been carried out by enthusiasts without formal linguistic training. Persian dialects in Iran encompass dozens, if not hundreds, of varieties, making a comprehensive study beyond the capacity of a single researcher or the scope of a single article. Therefore, relying on available sources, the author has selected and briefly introduced several of these dialects in order to present a preliminary picture of the linguistic diversity of Persian in Iran. Each dialect introduction includes a section on its phonetic features, and any notable grammatical characteristics are also mentioned. In addition, common vocabulary items from each dialect are provided as examples.
